Smart Used Car Shopping - Part 6

We discussed the importance of brainstorming, and how starting with a large list then narrowing down is very critical to the satisfaction level associated with the final decision. We even went further by identifying the key to analytic test drive. I am now going to take the smart used car shopping series an article further to discuss the importance of soliciting several quotes from different dealers for the same identical car. Hence, the salespeople are going to try their nest not to have you walk out without a car, and are even going to stretch to the extent of not giving you an out of the door figure unless you promise you are going to buy it from their dealership. However, if you walkout, and comeback later, there is no way they will refuse you business.

However, I can’t stress enough that shopping for a used car is not something the average person intends to do very often or at least not as much as he or she goes out grocery shopping. If you go out shopping while hungry you may buy things that you don’t need, on the other hand if you go out shopping without a list, the odds are that you are going to get home and figure that you forgot to buy something. In other words, you need to engage in smart used car shopping. So, let’s get to business. You don’t have to stop at the dealership, you can gather quotes on the phone, and all you have to do is write down the name of the salesperson that you spoke to. Request your quote based on the make, model, and all options that you want. Now that you have a list of invoice prices, you don’t necessary have to visit the least expensive dealership, rather it should be a compromise of that and the comfort level you had to the salesperson. The odds are that the salesperson will work to match the lowest invoice price, just make sure you confirm that over the phone or email before you go to the dealership. For more information, check out the Smart Used Car Shopping.
