Red (Stop Immediately)
Engine Oil Pressure
Low oil flow or high temperature. Pull over, shut off engine, check level—tow or refill before driving.
Engine Coolant Temperature
Engine overheating. Stop, let it cool, top coolant once safe; call service if light returns.
Battery/Charging System
Alternator not charging. Switch off accessories and head to a workshop before the car stalls.
Brake System Failure
Hydraulic fault or low fluid. Stop safely, check fluid; if light stays on, call breakdown.
Park Brake Engaged
Handbrake still on or electric park-brake fault. Release fully; if red after release, seek repair.
Airbag / SRS
Airbags disabled due to fault. Drive only if essential; book immediate diagnostic.
Power Steering Failure
Electric or hydraulic assist lost. Steering heavy—stop if unsafe and arrange towing.
Transmission Overheat
Gearbox too hot. Pull over, idle in neutral, let it cool; tow if lamp returns quickly.
DPF Excessive Soot (Diesel)
Filter blocked and at risk of damage. Cease driving until forced regeneration or service.
Brake Pad Wear Limit
Pads at minimum thickness. Replace before driving farther.
Seatbelt Unfastened (Front)
Driver or front passenger belt open. Buckle up immediately.
Door or Tailgate Ajar
Door/boot not latched. Stop and close securely.
Collision-Mitigation Fault
Emergency braking unavailable. Avoid driving until repaired.
Yellow / Amber (Action Required Soon)
Check Engine
Emission or sensor fault. Car may drive normally but book service promptly.
ABS
Anti-lock brakes disabled. Braking still works but may lock; drive cautiously to repair.
DSC/ESP
Stability control limited. Extra care on corners; visit workshop.
Tire Pressure
One or more tires under-inflated. Check pressures and reset.
Service Due
Time or mileage reached. Schedule maintenance.
Glow Plug (Diesel)
Pre-heat active or plug fault. Wait to start when cold; service if flashing.
Fuel Reserve
Approx. 50–70 km range left. Refuel.
Brake Fluid Low
Top up with DOT4; inspect for leaks.
Bulb Failure
Exterior light out. Replace bulb.
Rain Sensor / Wiper Fault
