M is the mileage factor, and m is the entered mileage. Mileage below the expected level raises the estimate. Mileage above it lowers the estimate. The code limits this factor to a minimum of 0.75 and a maximum of 1.15. Therefore, mileage alone can reduce the base estimate by no more than 25% or increase it by no more than 15%.
