Ford Ranger Timing Belt or Chain (All Years 1983–2025)
The Ford Ranger is a pickup truck produced by Ford Motor Company for the U.S. market across two distinct production eras: 1983 to 2012 (first through third generation) and 2019 to the present (fifth generation). The fourth generation was not sold in the United States.

Does the Ford Ranger Have a Timing Belt or Timing Chain?
The Ford Ranger has used both timing belts and timing chains depending on engine and model year. The 2.0L and 2.3L Lima four-cylinders (1983–2001) and the 2.5L Lima four-cylinder (1998–2001) use timing belts. All V6 engines and the modern 2.3L Duratec and EcoBoost four-cylinders use timing chains. Always verify by engine and model year before scheduling service.
